FAQ's

I arrive after assembly?
Report to the office/library to get a late slip.  Bring a letter from your parent/guardian to the register teacher within two days.

I am absent from school?
Phone the office to let us know.  Bring a letter signed b your parent/guardian on teh day you return and give it to your register teacher.  Find out whatyou must catch up.

I am absent from school and miss a test?
Phone the office and bring a doctor's certificate to yor register teacher.  Be prepared to write a make up test on the day you return.

I have a medical/dental appointment?
Brig a letter addressed to the duty princial askig permission.  Have your parent/guardian collect you from the office and sign you out.  Be prepared to show your letter again.

I am sick at school or sont feel well?
Report to the office secretary and she will send you to the school nurse who will phone your parents/guardians to fetch you if necessary.  (Do not phone your parents yourself on your cellphone!!)

I am feeling upset or worried about a personal problem?
Make an appointment to see the school counsellor or speak to one of your teachers or a peer responder.

I am being bullied or now someone who is?
Tell somebody - your class tutor, a teacher, a friend or a peer responder or make an appointment with the school counsellor.  Use the stopbully e-mail:  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Someone is hurt?
Find an LLC member, peer responder or teacher on duty immediately and report the incident.  If possible take the learner to the office.

I have lost something?
All property should be clearly marked with your name.  Lost property is usually sent to the office.  If you do not find it there, tell your register teacher.

I get something confiscated?
Arrange with the teacher or LLC member who has taken it when it can be collected.

I need a locker?
Lockers cost R145 for the year.  Pay at the payment office at reception.  Take your receipt to Mr. Smurthwaite to get a locker allocation.  Get your own lock with 3 keys. 

I dont understand my work?
See your subject teacher or your homework class tutor or a friend.

I forget to bring my homework/PE kit?
Explain to your subject teacher before the lesson.

I fall behind with my work?
Dont delay.  See your subject teacher immediately.  He/she will help.  If you are behind in a number of subjects consult your grade tutor.

I miss a deadline for handing in work?
Stay after school at a time convenient to the teacher to catch up.

I find it difficult to complete work?
Arrange with your parents to stay after school and work in the homework classes.

I have to leave a lesson?
Excuse yourself from the class with the teacher concerned.

I cannot meet my co-curricular commitment?
Bring a letter of excuse from your parent/gardian.  Give it to your coach, allowing at least one day before a match.

I am in a school team?
Check with the coach that you have the correct uniform for that sport and attend regular practice sessions.

If I have any other problem?
Contact the secretary in the office and she will direct you to the appropriate person.

I need to load money on my smart card (student card)?
Take your card to the accounts office and whatever money you pay will be loaded onto your card.  Alternatively your parents can do an electronic transfer.

I have lost my card?
Report it to the section secretary.  You will need to pay R25 to replace it.
